Ricardo Castro Mexican Composer and Pioneer Ricardo Castro was a late nineteenth-century romantic composer and pianist. Throughout the course of his life, Castro toured and taught everywhere from New York to Leipzig. He also studied under another famed Latin American pianist and composer, Teresa Carreño, while in Europe. We will highlight his piano concerto and cello concerto, the first ever written in Latin America.
