Max Janowski and Basia Polischuk (9/21/1962)

These two distinguished figures in the field of Jewish music met as students at a renowned conservatory in Berlin in the years before World War II. Mr. Polischuk was a violinist with a world-wide career. Mr. Janowski was an internationally respected composer of Jewish liturgical music, who also served as the longtime music director at KAM Isaiah Israel Congregation in Hyde Park.
