Join Bill for a trip around the Pacific Rim! From Australia, we'll hear Aboriginal music alongside pieces by Percy Grainger and Peter Sculthorpe. In New Zealand, we'll hear Māori music, featuring Dame Gillian Whitehead and Kiri Te Kanawa. Then, we'll continue sailing west to South America, where we'll encounter music from Argentina and Chile. Studs Terkel was an ardent fan of J.S. Bach. The German composer and virtuoso of the Baroque period was born on March 21, 1685. In 1980, Studs crafted a tribute featuring Andrés Segovia, Dame Myra Hess, Pete Seeger, Bidu Sayão, Pablo Casals, Jean-Pierre Rampal, and others.
